5:30 pm Presentation

Title: Building an Integration Services Execution Logging and Statistics Framework

Description:
A critical step in building a solid, manageable ETL [Extract, Transform, Load] solution is ensuring that support staff have access to accurate logging and statistics from the production environment without resorting to launching BIDS [Business Intelligence Development Studio] on the server. Borrowing from various reference sources, Ted Berger will present an actual, production-ready framework for logging package execution in your SSIS [SQL Server Integration Services] solution as well as capturing statistics for later analysis.

Bio: Ted Berger has been a Senior Consultant with Daugherty Business Solutions since before most of us can remember. He’s been a friendly face at most major IT shops within St. Louis, filling roles such as LISP Programmer, Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Architect and ETL Developer.

7 pm Presentation:

Topic: Using Class Interfaces to Implement a Single ASP.NET Page for Any SQL Server Database Table

Bio: Kit West
is Director of Web Development at Karpel Solutions. Since 1997 Kit has developed database and web applications for St. Louis businesses, including Monsanto, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, BlueCross/BlueShield, CitiCorp, and Bank of America. (He started his career writing COBOL compilers at Digital Equipment Corporation, but we don't usually talk about that.) kwest@karpel.com

  LiveMeetingInstructions Minimize

Here is our experience with LiveMeeting to date:
If you use the ClickToAttend.com website and sign up there, then you will be invited to attend the meeting.
The LiveMeeting is set up from 5pm (for testing) to 9pm. You should only have to add your name to JoinTheMeeting.
If the Meeting ID code is not in the box. FOR EXAMPLE: Z4HFGF enter it, click on Submit, and try to join the meeting.
If that does not work, put in the Attendee Entry Code. FOR EXAMPLE: MN.5R_5qw should be entered, click on Submit, and try to join again.
If those two steps do not work, then call the Live Meeting Event Support at 1-800-893-8779.
I recommend using the LiveMeeting application that needs to be downloaded and NOT the web page method if you know it.
In the past, some people have reported that all they had to do was enter their name to join and hit Submit.
In the past, other people have reported that all they had to do was enter their name and the meeting id to join and hit Submit.
Even though it seems logical to enter the Attendee Entry Code, most people get logged off if they use it.
